New simple youtube tag for embedding videos!

I shot DS an idea to simplify this for all of us.

He made it happen 5 minutes later.

So instead of having to go through the trouble of copying and pasting all that "old" embedded code (some of us were slipping up and posting their new embedded code that doesn't work, lol), all you need to do is this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KdhSxMgpJL8

[yt*]KdhSxMgpJL8[*/yt]

Just remember to take out the *'s, and sometimes if you've got a longer link like so:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XUKdfQvZ2YE&feature=related

Don't include the & and everything after in the yt tag.

Hotlinking

It has come to my attention that quite a few of you are using pictures from other websites.

Now, it's fine and all if it's your website (or photobucket or tinypic or whatever) or if you have permission. It's not a big deal now as it was in the past, but let me remind you to you have no control over the picture (i.e: can be deleted at anytime, destroying your layout). In some instances, some websites may be blackedlisted by an antivirus and trigger it, as soon recently.

But seriously, if you plan to use an image semi-permanently, please try to host it somewhere.

Maintenance

Hello everyone!

I would simply like to tell you guys that the board might be down a few times in the next days, as I plan to do a partial re-write of the board, as well as properly test and fix a few bugs and exploits.

Aftermath of the recent problems

I've got most of it done, xeogaming.net seems to be working fine.

But, any post, any PM, any thread that has been made and that didn't show simply doesn't exist. I'm sorry about that, but it's true.

Of multiple fixes.

Most of what was broken (new threads not showing up, posts in threads not showing up, private messages not showing up and so on) have been fixed (works on my end, at the very least). If you still get any error, PM me with it (or if you can't, email me).

Also, I'd ask that you guys still not use xeogaming.net, it's running another version of PHP, and I haven't tested things on it yet.

EDIT: more things fixed, xeogaming.net might work earlier than I thought

If you're using the .net URL, try .org. Some people seem to be having some issues with .net for now from what others are telling me.

Of broken password and messed up layouts.

As some might've guessed, it was script kiddy time in Xeogaming, once again.

For once, I have actually fixed code, so hopefully it won't happen again.

You know the drill, contact people to get your passwords reset if they don't work.

Also, due to an extremely BAD AND SHITTY (tm) proxy used by said lamer, urls in some people's layout/profile have been replaced by urls to the proxy in question. Hopefully I have that in a back somewhere, or you guys will have to fix that yourselves.

Some possible downtime ahead ... READ!!

The board might be down for a few days if you're using the normal URL, however evogaming might work for a replacement for awhile. I know it's a late heads up but things about this were a little confusing and I didn't know about it until recently, until then just bookmark evogaming and be prepared to use it if you want to visit the board for the next few days or so.

Bump in the road, hopefully things are all fixed!

Well we've obviously ran into some issues recently. Our host kind of decided to upgrade their servers to PHP5 recently and the Acmlm board code is a little aged, it was built around earlier versions of PHP. So the code wasn't really working and whatnot. I didn't think it'd be possible to fix, but once again Xkeeper fixed some stuff. So all your thanks should go to him for helping us out here.

Hopefully everything is back in shape now. If you notice any bugs, report them to me or DarkSlaya and we'll see what we can do. Until then, its good to be back in business.

Sadly I'm still having DNS problems so I'll be using the other URL for the time being.
