Returning to my comment about the 20 piece box having handles and being covered in cartoon characters... you can see it in this commercial at the 0:11 mark:

Seems like they're trying to make it look like it's something to be shared with the whole family as opposed to be the meal for one kid like it appears in the restaurants.

Definitely number two, Rogue.

I dont think this will effect their business that much though. Its McDonald's, and this is America. Unfortunately, it will never die.

Ugh, this is rather annoying, to tell you the truth. I mean, yeah, this is bad. That's why they're recalling them...but I love Shrek...

At least they're recalling them though. I guess.

From what I heard on the news, the glasses met federal requirements, I guess, during production of the glasses stricter regulations went into effect regarding the amount of cadmium allowed.

I'm simultaneously amused and alarmed by this statement that appeared in a Wall Street Journal article about the recall:

The voluntary recall is a rare lapse for McDonald's, which is known for tough oversight of suppliers, and could hurt its standing with families that have driven the fast-food chain's growth.

Oversight? Oh goodie gum drops, don't tell me the sausage biscuits were full of lead.

EDIT: Now the question is which definition of oversight was the WSJ using? My mind had immediately shot to #2.

Probably because it would.

Well, they're already pushing the 20 piece McNugget meals on kids (the box is covered with cartoon characters and comes with handles), so why not?

What?! Seriously? That is just a little ridiculous. And America wonders why everyone hates us.. haha

Oh goody, a good old-fashioned case of cadmium poisoning for the adorable toddler masses.

While I doubt this will directly affect most of you, McDonald's is recalling all of the Shrek glasses they have been selling in promotion of the new movie. They contain cadmium.
