The only possible Batman line ups are 1st. The man who started it all Bruce. He died twice and left a legacy. 2nd. Tim Drake, he figured out the identidy of Batman and took over when he was being a pansy. 3rd. Terry McGinnis, he took down the Joker. (It was an awful episode and made me want to cry while I watched it) but he still did it. Vote goes to Bruce. |

O.o So I looked it up and yeah Cap's still alive and he talks to Obama..
Somehow I wish the conversation went like this: |

Originally posted by True Flight OK, the deal with Civil War was that while shooting a reality show of superheroes capturing villains, one of the villains went nuclear and blew up an elementary school. The public felt this was really irresponsible and demanded that all people who go around as superheroes should demask and register, thereby falling under the American government's jurisdiction. The law is EXACTLY like the 1977 Keene Act from "Watchmen" (because Mark Millar is constantly copying Alan Moore) or, if you will, the beginning of "The Incredibles." It targeted all masked vigilantes, not just mutants (which was a different issue all together). Cap was completely against unmasking and registering, saying it took away their freedom. In the end, Cap surrendered when he realized that his side, the outlaw heroes against registering, and the heroes who were for it were simply destroying the world around them while supervillains were running rampant. His "death" came after Civil War, and ended up with him never-being-dead-to-begin-with in Captain America: Reborn. "Fallen Son" and so many of the books that detailed Cap's death flew off the shelves because speculation buyers couldn't keep their hands off it, thinking that their books were going to be worth millions in such a short time. Ugh... I hate speculation buyers. Anyway, I agree. The death of superheroes is among the dumbest things, because really it's just to boost sales. What's worse now is putting Obama in as a character. Sales go through the roof and you can't get a copy to save your soul. |

It will always be Bruce Wayne. |

No the original Captain America died during the civil war.
He was an activist going against the identification of mutants... Marvel killed him off. |

Originally posted by True Flight Captain America didn't die. He just got hit by a super bullet or something. Honestly, DC and Marvel really fucking piss me off with how stupid they look after they kill a superhero. They scramble to find ways to bring them back but want to capitalize on it. |

DC's really not like Marvel though. They killed Captain America...
IN REALITY.. They killed him off then sold his rights to the Army. So he did some sort of Houdini trick. Because he's all over comics here. =P |

Going from memory it's Pennyworth.
But still, Jason Todd! He was beaten to shit by the Joker and then left in a room with a bomb. There's no coming back from that. |

When I saw this thread I thought it was going to be about which actor portrayed Batman better, which, y'know, is a sane conversation.
I cannot believe this debate is happening. Batman is Bruce Wayne. Everyone else is just a lame ass imposter constructed by the DC war machine to boost sales. |

I still can't believe they brought back Jason Todd. The people wanted him dead, DC. Take a fucking cue from the public for once. While you're at it, stop calling every major comic event you put out "Crisis." No wonder your comics are getting their asses kicked at the box office. I'm looking your way, Jonah Hex. People have been demanding a Wonder Woman movie for years. Why don't you freaking give it to them already? Then maybe Green Arrow and Black Canary? Yeesh.
Ahem... ugh... anyway, I'm going to abstain. While Bruce Wayne is the definitive Batman, our grown-up original Boy Wonder hasn't really had a chance to flourish under the cowl yet. And I kinda dug Damien being the Dark Knight in Batman 666 a couple years ago. Just a smidge. |

I agree. Dick Grayson grew up... failed the Teen Titans, failed as Nightwing, and failed as Batman though. |
Phoenixocracy Posts: 516/2746 |
Bruce was not a pedophile. He related to Robin. After his parents died, a small part of Bruce never grew up because he became latched to his parents. He arguably has many other psychological disorders, but he is in no way a pedophile. Lol.
And yeah, Dick was, as Katana said, a dick. |
True Flight Posts: 4101/5245 |
My husband and I have this thing where we argue whether Bruce was a pedophile or not. So yeah we both agree that after Dick Grayson grew up to be Nightwing and on from there he failed... The Teen Titans failed... Red Robin failed... Nightwing failed... Then when he took over Batman... He failed.
