So, I ended up seeing this about a week ago, and I'm going to have to admit that before this movie I knew nothing about Iron Man. I never read the comics, looked at him on TV, or anything similiar.
So, since I was completely new to his story, I thought the movie was completely awesome. Tony Stark was an awesome character, the action was awesome, and I though that most of the movie was amazing. Really, the only super hero movie I've liked better than this was Batman Begins. EDIT: 3000th post, teh WOOT! |

Yup, and Captain America's going to be played by Firefly's Adam Baldwin, and Thor was going to be played by Dwayne Johnson (The Rock) but he had to leave for some reason or another. Oh, and Nick Fury is being played by Samuel L. Jackson, because it's based off the Ultimates versions, where Fury is black *facepalm*.
So: Iron Man. It was okay. Not the worst superhero movie out there. Certainly not the best. Worth seeing if you like that sort of thing. Not if you don't. I was a bit disappointed, because they had a lot more potential that they didn't go with. 8/10 |

Yeah, they're going to be making a Thor movie, too. It's gonna be so sweet. |

I finally went and saw it yesterday after faire.
It was damn good (maybe not the greatest comic book movie in my opinion, but that's just me. X2's opening scene gives me a heart attack of joy every time I see it that NO other movie could ever duplicate). I sure hope this means Marvel's out of that slump of mediocre movies and this is the dawning of the new age. There were a couple things I didn't care for, though small in nature. 1) Since it's not a big plot point, there's no real need for spoiler tags. The part when he gets hit by the SUV and he's trying to make sure that it and the people in it don't get hurt. The extras they had in the vehicle were TERRIBLE. I mean, the fear on their face was so bad it was comical. Looked kinda like this guy: Yeah, it's definitely not a big deal, but it took away from the intensity of the moment. Also since Brandon and I had just had a bad run-in a couple hours before we went to see the movie with a blond woman in an H2 (who looked a lot like the SUV's driver in Iron Man), who scraped along the side of our car then drove away after getting out and blaming us then getting back in her car and driving away as fast as she could (I still got a picture of her license plate and reported the hit-and-run, so yeah), that part probably rubbed me the wrong way just then. *Shrugs* 2) The final fight had A LOT of Transformers visuals. Almost too closely at times. Aside from those little things, I loved it (especially the parts when he's fighting terrorists). Very Tony Stark. I really didn't think Robert Downey Jr. was a good choice for the part at first, but I'm glad I was proven wrong. Considering the fact that the only Iron Man books I've read are usually about the Avengers or just happen to feature him, I really don't know much about Pepper Potts. I like the fact that they kept in Tony's flaws. He's known for being a womanizing alcoholic with a bad heart. Fans wouldn't have it any other way if they cleaned him up for the movie. If I can find it, Wizard Magazine published an article about how, in the Marvel Universe, if you kiss Galactus, you can taste Tony Stark. He's been around that much. Seriously, though. Tony's coming out a lot like he becomes in Marvel Civil War. This is a perfect lead-in to it after they make the *cough cough Spoiler: cough cough cough*
Avengers P.S. Spoiler: Love the hinting toward Rhodes becoming the Warmachine. |

So I saw it this past Monday... holy shit it was amazing! I want the soundtrack, first of all. Jeff Bridges played his part amazingly, Robert Downey, Jr. was just perfect at Tony... and that suit was badass. Gwyneth Paltro managed to not seem like Gwyneth Paltro playing Pepper Pots but actually just the character and I was rather impressed with that because there have been times when I can't really see the character, just her playing it.
Also, the little bit after the credits was awesome and I cannot wait for the next one! |

'Twas very awesome, though I suspect a more upgraded Iron Man in the next installment.
Speaking of which, I wonder who they will choose as a villain? =o |

This is possibly the best movie to come out all of this year and last year, easily. I mean, I can't believe they killed Tony Stark in the end!
By the way, that last sentence is a spoiler so don't read it! Of course, that's a brutal lie. Iron Man is just too badass for that to happen. Sorry on my part for the stupid joke. |

I haven't seen this yet, but I'm hearing from a few people that you have to stay through the credits as there's something you must see.
Spoiler: Supposedly it hints toward the possible Avengers movie. |

I can't wait until this comes out. I never really got into the Iron Man comics, but this does look really good. And from what I read this was done right. |

New Trailer |

Ch'yah, just saw the trailer for this last night. Looks pretty fricken sweet. My boyfriend has been talking about this for AGES, but he's also the only 20 year old I know with over 1000$ worth of accumulated action figures around his room, not really concealing his love of marvel too much, to say the least.
I was never too into comics. They're cool, but I just never had the opportunity. So, even if everybody says it turns out to be a flop, won't really affect me too much. I love most of the super hero movies that have been coming out over the past few years. **shrugs** I have nothing to compare them to other than what is presented on the Big Screen. (Batman is the exception, however. My brother-in-law has a lot of the comics from when he was a kid and I've read all the ones he has. I also was into all the different TV shows, even the old one. ) |

The super bowl commercial for it made it out to be more "fun" rather than epic, regardless it still looks incredible. I've been waiting forever for this movie to be made. |

It looks really cool, and I love that they play Iron Man during the trailer. I have never really been all that knowledgeable about Iron Man before but I have to say that I am quite intrigued by what I've seen of the movie so far. |

I watched the commercial during the super bowl. This movie looks really really awesome. |

New trailer. Watch the "TV Spot."
Seriously, this is going to be the most epic movie ever. There's a reason it's one of the only three movies I'm actually anticipating. |

But anyways, alot of folks on the Forums on G4 and Adult Swim are blabbering about it being the next "Spider Man". I really was not a fan of the series, only the comics and Old cartoons. Now the Ironman cartoon. THAT was an amazing cartoon. |

Oh, sorry man. I thought you were calling War Machine the War Destroyer. Didn't know you were naming the attack.
I have a copy of MvC2 as well, great stuff. Though I think Capcom vs SNK 2 (EO) was better. |
