Change the picture and its good as new
I figured out how to chand=ge mostly everything in layouts by looking at mine and finding out what was what. Its pretty easy, if you know how to change it.

What's wrong with the picture? :p It's showing up just fine on my computer, unless it's a FFVIII shit. **glares**

And yeah, I looked up most of my old layouts here, and when I was copying the headers and footers, I surprised myself with what I was able to understand. And easily too. So thr thought of making layouts doesn't seem TOO terrifying anymore.

(That and I'm lazy...like, REALLY lazy. )

Adding a picture as your background:
In your box's CSS, add 
background-image: URL('http://background.url.goes.here/');
Or if you want it to be just a transparent color, add 
background-color: rgba(red, blue, green, transparency);

Example: 
background-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.5);
<-- 50% Transparent black background.
This will have a 50% transparent black background in anything but IE

Note: As I said, RGBA does NOT work in IE!

Testing the font color on my layout. I'm not sure if I like the light blue or not. I added a darker border to the post itself, but otherwise, this is the same old layout from before.

That light blue is not bad at all I'd say, not affecting readability, I even had to look close to notice it was light blue

But your font feels tiny to me... kinda like the board's header

Haha. I think I have it at 10pt. I don't really like my font too large, but if it's a problem, I can easily increase the size.

For me, it looks like it's the same size as the board's small font (which is 10px according to the CSS; normal font is 13px).

Now yeah, I'm a blind ass and use a font size of 85% at Board2 (but 85% of what? I wonder. It just sets the <body>'s font size to 85%)

But well, I can still read those small fonts. It's just that I shouldn't try to read them if my eyes are tired or whatever

Haha. It might be easier once you hit reply, as well. Then you can see all of the replies underneath of you, and in larger font.

Not all, how many are shown depends on your posts per page settings

But normal posts use the same font size as the thread review on newreply, so it's probably you lowering the font size

My layout is old as hell. I say this in realization now, because I believe this was made 2-3 years ago. That's at least when the promo picture is from.
