Can you go by...Tony? xD.
I pretty much have a similiar story, though. Until about five years ago, I always went by Alex, but once people got a hold of my last name, that's pretty much all I've ever gone by. Even when I want to college, within a few months, everyone stopped calling me Alex. But that's probably just because I have such a common first name. Hurray for Alex. |

Honestly, I'm not sure of that feeling better is a good sign. I'm not a doctor, and I don't know a whole lot about broken bones, but I do know that if you don't treat an injured bone, then it'll still grow back together, it'll just grow wrong.
Now, if it grows wrong, I think (but again, don't know) that you do initially feel better. However, as the injury is never really healed, then your ankle could reach a point where it is never as healthy as it once was. As for seeing a doctor, think of it this way... How well could you play hockey on an injured leg? Even if you just grit your teeth and push through the pain, you won't be as could as you are without an injury. Besides that, if untreated, and you do play on an injured leg, you'd only be able to get through some practices and maybe a couple games, before the injury catches up to you, and you could quite possibly never play hockey again. Also, for what you said about not seeing a doctor because he'd probably tell you not to play hockey...if you admit its bad enough that a doctor would say you shouldn't, I'm pretty sure that you know on your own that you should stay off the ice. Skipping a doctor's appointment you need won't fix any of your problems. |

False, if I spend money, then I'll spend a little more than I should because I try to get the best version of something, but usually then I'm smart with my money.

I know that most universities have special roommate agreements which you have to follow, and that if one roommate breaks it, he can either get in trouble, with either fines, or possibly even being kicked out of a dorm.
So, if you have a roommate agreement, talk to your RA so that you and your roommate can resolve this issue. If there is no roommate agreement, then... Well, you have to live with this guy for the next two months. Have a conversation with him, and mention that you know you do some things he doesn't like, and that he also does things you don't like, and you'd like to make an arrangement to fix the problems both of you have. If that doesn't work, just wait until your roommate does something bad, and talk to your RA immediately. Like, no going to get dinner first. Let your RA show up with both of you are in your room at the same time so that the situation can be forcefully resolved. If your RA is any good, he'll take your side and find a way to fix the issue. |

Honestly Kaijin, simbattling is evolving far past what it once was, and honestly, I like this new direction.
I know I've said it to plenty of people befre through PMs, but I don't think I've yet posted it, so I guess now is the time. Simbattling, in my view, is nothing more than a writing exercise. A way for you to increase you knowledge of your character, new situations, how to react, etc. I don't view it as a competition anymore, like I used to. The old simbattle rules were all about competition, and that's it. As a result, then vastly overpowered characters like Sparda dominated the field, instead of well written evenly-powered characters like we're trying to push towards right now. The problem with overpowered characters, like, no offense intended, yours, is that they act as a disservice towards both players. You, as an invincible person, don't need to push yourself to keep the upper hand. All you do is rely on superpowered attacks that murder someone in a single attack. How do you grow as a writer doing that? It also does your competition a disservice, because in order to win, they have to put their own character in steroids. Superpower them in order to survive your insanity. Yeah, it'll cause them to write outside of their comfort zone, but it wouldn't allow them to grow in the direction they want. So why doesn't everyone just go with superpowered characters, you ask? Well, the answer here, for me, is easy. If you want to write a story, how much suspense do you have if your main character is superman? A character that is invincible against bullets, blades, heat, energy, or, indeed, almost anything? You get absolutely none, because the main character will destroy all of his opponents. Its boring, and its something that I would stop reading long before the finale. And this goes back to what simbattling is about, learning to better write suspense and action. Putting yourself in new mindsets with fights, giving yourself more ideas for a suspenseful battle. Obviously then writing stories is different from writing simbattles, but the concepts and attacks are still the same, and you can still learn quite a bit. tldr; Old battles were competitions, now they're writing exercises. We like weak characters, xD. |

Well, yeah, its already sort of like that. Having a standard set of rules, but if people want to play differently, I'd be shocked if Cairoi cared.

Happy birthday to the Lord Bitmap, and have another awesome year.
In fact, don't just have an awesome one, dominate this year. Show it who's boss. Who's boss? You'd better be boss. Yeah. |

Ah, the cha cha slide, for OB, merely the dressing on a repetoire of dance moves.
But he had another powerful one...a dance so powerful, it was said to be rooted in the black plague of old. He reached out to another person in the store, and another, and another. A ring they formed, and they stepped side to side. Another disembodied voice, drowning out Mister C... "Ring around the Rosie, pockets full of posie..." And they all fell down. Such an ancient, powerful dance could destroy any in its path. BJ would surely have no defense. |

Are we talking Kronos as in the Gyros restaurant, or Kronos as in the Titan who castrated his father and then ate his children until his stomach was cut open and he was imprisoned?
Chronos was also partially in charge of time, but his name is spelled differently, xD. |

Hint:
Spoiler:
Kronos had no power over time. Chronos was someone different, xD. |

You don't mess with a professional nerd. I had Ares as a simbattle character, and know more about mythology than anyone outside of a university, xD.

On the martial arts thing...
I will agree that these fights could easily be just one-liners. They can be short and concise. However, having actually been in martial arts, I've actually learned that there is a LOT of things going on in a proper fight. Foot placement, momentum, balance, the position and angle of the strike, etc. Because of this, then I actually try to move in to a sword fight with my opponent, just because a single bad swing can murder you. The examples you mention, Kaijin, are honestly written so dryly that I can see why it would be boring. However, a good simbattle, again, is just a writing exercise. Insert your character, try to put a little suspense in your posts. I'm honestly very proud of my most recent fight with Cairoi, just because of how much more we both write it like a story, than a competition. (Apologies to Cairoi for not posting, working two jobs has caused me to stop writing posts that can take over an hour to properly prepare for and write) But yeah, that's th sort of direction I hope to move in. Focusing lss on the killing Saiyin level 500, and more on the subtle traps and creative exercises that brought me into simbattling in the first place. |

Didn't we used to have one once?
Probably not, but I do think that it would be a fun implementation. |

I tried to talk to Sparda, but he claimed he was "too old" for this sort of place.
He's only 20. O_o I also tried to get Seticus to come back, and he said he'd consider it, but hasn't posted since. And Spyware was a little before my time on Xeogaming, so I haven't tried with him yet. |

Sorry, I'd love to, but as I'm working two jobs, and still really short on money for what I need, I have nothing to help ya'll with.
It does look like you all have it handled, though. |

We actually used to do tag-team matches, back in the day. Ryan and I held the Tag Team belt until everyone got bored of the belt system and it disappeared.
The way I'd see it is that each new post happens in the same time frame. If a mass attack towards everyone happens, then each player has to wait until his or her turn to defend against it and counter it. So like, if player two attacks player one, then player one has to wait until his turn to defend. So basically... Player one goes and attacks... Player two goes and attacks... Player three goes and attacks player one... Player four goes, takes care of any attacks going his way Player one goes again and defends as if the attack just happened. |

Alright, I think taht that's enough of that topic. I talked to True, and she said she was going to delete her post, so that the conflict would be completely over, but apparently she never got around to it.
That means I'm in moderator mode, which I think we all know is rare when I'm actually posting, instead of PMing or IMing. So, I'll just say that this thread has gotten a little heated on both (all three) sides, and that I'm sure nobody here actually harbors bad feelings towards anyone else, and that if they did act in a way that seemed overly aggressive or hostile, then it was not intentional, or was only done in the heat of the moment, not to be repeated. The above paragraph was just one really long sentence. And yeah, from what I've heard, Xeios and Kaijin are resolving their difficulties via PM. Let's keep things happy, people. So, less arguing about arguing and more productive discussion on improvements for the rules. And for the record, Cairoi did none of this "holier than thou" stuff, xD. He's only posted one line sicne Kaijin even came in, and that was a reply directed towards me. |
