OOC: umm. i'm gonna have to void Benja's last sentence. the one that says how he saw serena as he was on his way to approach them...
the rest is fine, but the last sentence isnt. first, he was outside, and we're all backstage, so he cant just say he saw her without going back inside, and then backstage. and second, I'M THERE! it'll pretty much screw everything up. my character hasnt even had a chance to say or do anything, then he comes along, and i'll have'ta run or something... and it'll all be mixed up.

IC: "Why, you want me to leave?" He didnt know what was going on, but tried to play it off by replying indirectly. "So... some concert hmm...," he asked. "Hold on, why's everyone already deciding that we're having a charity concert?" Yaten was mad. He already told them they were booked for months, yet no one listened to him.

let's see.... i eat dinner at around 8pm... i sleep around 1:30am-ish, i wake up around 12:30pm-ish... that's about 16:30 hours i dont eat each day... i spend 3/4 of my day not eating...

solution... i think i should sleep earlier so i can wake up earlier.

but on the topic... some of you say it's stupid, yet you do it because you have to. you dont HAVE to do anything. religion and faith and all that... blah.

why dont'ca do what the rest of the poor ppl do... go to a community college for your first two years, then transfer. that'll save you about 55K... work during the summer, to save for the unmet amounts that you later need that your loans cannot provide when you are at a real college. easy as pie...
and yeah, it is your average teenager worry...

i think i'd like to see your source for that stat lol...

anyways, i doesnt even matter if 99.9% of the troops are sent there to protect the ppl. as long as there are troops, and instances of battle or anything like that, propaganda will blow things out of proportion. a good example would be the boston massacre... was it a massacre? hell no, only 5 ppl died..

my point is, doesnt matter what you do with the troops, you can stack them and make a building out of'em for all the insurgants care. presence is enough to cause trouble.

besides, bush acted without approval from the UN.

like i said, it's just a matter of connection is all. if you dont know anyone, then usually you wouldnt care.

all i have to say is wow:
age of consent worldwide
http://www.avert.org/aofconsent.htm

talk about strict... Tunisia, wherever the hell that place is, the age is 20 lol

and yes, there are double standards. as the pattern goes, anyone can easily tell that girls of younger age than males can consent so that older males can prey on the young.

in New Hampshire a female can marry at age 13, and males at 14. once married, you can have sex, but not legally with any other person.

in New Mexico: 13 homosexual, 17 heterosexual. i seriously wonder what's the logic behind that law =/

basically your second comment answered your first. the truth of the matter is, the human brain is fully grown at age 21, thus the drinking age limit. at 13, it's too immature to consent to sex. i mean, girls that age giggle and all that about everything, they're still in middle school. they're easily influenced by older ppl.

Posted on 09-16-05 04:24 PM, in Pledge of Allegiance: Should it be removed from classrooms? Link
...and here comes me

to answer zabuza's comments about why we dont say it anymore in college... well, that's an easy ass answer! ONE: K-12 students tend to go to public schools, ie free... and ran by our government. TWO: college and up, are not public schools. you or someone pays for it. since you or someone pays for it, you are not forced to do anything.

regarding why "under GOD" should be removed:

ONE: K-12 students are still kids who attend a public school. this is what you call a "captive audience."

Definition
captive audience noun [C]
a group of people who listen to or watch someone or something because they can not leave.

This is also why your teachers arent "supposed" to tell you if they're a demo, or repub... or their opinions about a certain topic. keep in mind, i said supposed to.

so, to recap... kids in public schools who are told to recite it in a sense has no choice in the matter. certain schools/teachers dont care if you say it or not. but that's on a case by case situation depending on those ppl. in theory, you are supposed to say it. any "good" student will go along with it, since it's a rule, and they dont wanna get in trouble and whatnot. that is the full sense of a captive audience. this is the #1 reason it should be taken out.

TWO: "under God" gee... i wonder why it's God, and not god. so no, anyone's comments about it just saying god, which refers to any god, is WRONG! because it's a captial G, it automatically refers to the christian's God. So STFU, if anyone indeed use that arguement.

THREE: my personal experience. i'm not a christian or religious for that matter. but when i was a kid, i knew for sure i wasnt a christian, being asian and all that. so i'd always dread it when the under God part came around during the pledge. i always felt dirty or wrong when i said it. i thought it was just me, but now i'm sure there's millions out there who feels the same.

other stuff... the original Pledge read as follows: 'I pledge allegiance to my Flag and (to*) the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.' He considered placing the word, 'equality,' in his Pledge, but knew that the state superintendents of education on his committee were against equality for women and African Americans. [ * 'to' added in October, 1892. ]

"to my flag", which means that it's a pledge for your own state, not united states. it was changed later on. the original pledge was written some few decades after the civil war.

anyways, all in all... if you go to a private school, you should follow its rules and whatnot. but if you go to PUBLIC school, which i'm sure a lot of us did, you should not have to say under God, under the captive audience rule. and because it is seperation between church and state... being that public schools fall under the state, under God has no place there. i'd like to see someone counter my argument...

no disrespect intended whatsoever but........

blogging is not a new trend. it was a trend years ago, i'll guestimate and say about 3 years ago. i'll go ahead and guestimate again and say that 95% of the ppl in myspace don't bother using the blog area. and when they do, they dont really even "blog" they just write dumbass things that would not be considered as a blog. and i dont think it's mainly used by college students, but mainly by high school students. when MS came out, it was restricted to 18+, but now they changed it to 16+ i think... and we already made a thread about MS some time ago... but yes, i do write... and the link's in my profile =/

ironic how everyone's talking about Scientology, and 5 min ago, i just finished reading Wiki pedia's article on scientology....

from what i read.... and drawing my own conclusion, it is a cult. entry members are given a sugar coated version and explaination of what scientology is about. by feeding crap to their entry members, they in turn, help convert others.

"
The "Hidden Truth" about the nature of the universe is taught to the most advanced Scientologists in a series of courses known as the Advanced Levels. These are the levels above "Clear," and their contents are held in strict confidence within Scientology. The most advanced of all are the eight Operating Thetan levels, for which the initiate needs to be thoroughly prepared. The highest level, OT VIII, is only disclosed at sea, on the Scientology cruise ship Freewinds. Since being entered into evidence in several court cases beginning in the 1980s, synopses and excerpts of these secret teachings have appeared in innumerable publications.

In the OT levels, Hubbard describes a variety of traumas commonly experienced in past lives. He explains how to reverse the effects of such traumas by "running" various Scientology processes. Among these advanced teachings, one episode that is revealed to those who reach OT level III has been widely remarked upon in the press: the story of Xenu, the galactic tyrant who first kidnapped certain individuals who were deemed as 'excess population' and loaded these individuals into space planes for transport to the site of extermination, the planet of Teegeeack (Earth). These space planes were supposedly exact copies of Douglas DC-8s. He then stacked hundreds of billions of these frozen victims around Earth's volcanoes 75 million years ago before blowing them up with hydrogen bombs and brainwashing them with a "three-D, super colossal motion picture" for 36 days. The traumatised thetans subsequently clustered around human bodies, in effect acting as invisible spiritual parasites known as "Body Thetans" that can only be removed using advanced Scientology techniques. Xenu is allegedly imprisoned in a mountain and kept in by a force-field powered by an eternal battery.
"
so yeah, bull...

i'm gonna have'ta say if it does happen, a whole mess of other crap will happen as a result. there's a million things a person can do to abuse this no tax deal. like the rich can make millions by selling things, and not buy anything. if they dont buy anything, they dont have'ta "pay taxes." in theory, they can buy food and all that and write it off as business expenses. it's a stupid idea if you ask me. if it aint broken, dont fix it...

but yeah, like i said, in theory if the rich ppl only sold things and never buy anything, then they wont have to pay taxes. and even if you are right about everything, how would the rich and poor have the same tax rates in porportion to what they have? you can still be a high profiled lawyer or actor making millions, and still buy cheap 99 cent stuff a person on welfare buys. that doesnt seem porportion to what he makes....

well... geeogree if they dont tax anything except your paycheck... then what's left for the states and county/city? that's why we have so much tax... we gotta pay for city, if it has one, the county, if it has one, state, and federal tax. if they only take it from your income, then all those others wont get anything.

i think instead of saying 99 cents plus tax... we should do what the french do... write the price with the tax included, so we dont have to do the guessing game.

but yeah... it's seriously hard to change this so everyone stated above will get a good share.
